Karapan
cow is a term given to the cow race race from
the island of Madura,
East Java. At
this race,
which attracted a pair of cow kind of wooden
trains (where
the jockey standing and controlling the cow pair) driven in the race to race against other pairs of cattle. Race tracks are usually about 100 yards and races
can last about ten seconds to one minute.
Several cities in Madura
held karapan cows in August and September each year, with the final in late September or October in the city to compete for the trophy Pamekasan President.
Cows
Karapan preceded by pairs of cattle paraded around the track with gamelan accompaniment saronen called Madura. The first
round is the determination of the winning and losing groups. The second half is the
determination of the defeated
champion, was
the third round is the
determination to win the
championship. President

awarded to the champion winning group
