Hompipa

Hompimpa or hompimpah is a way to determine who won and lost by using the palm of the hand by a minimum of three participants. Taken together, the participants said the word hom-pim-pa. When pronouncing the last syllable (pa), each participant showed a hand with the inside of your palms facing down or up. In the Betawi culture, hompimpa performed with lyrical song "Hompimpa alaium gambreng. Mpok Ipah wear rags." [1] The winner is the participant who showed a different hand from the other participants. When participants were already won, the losing participants is determined by the two participants are left with doing suten.

Hompimpa typically used by children to determine their turn in a game. While playing hide and seek, for example, children who lost hompimpa a turn as a guard post.
